 Filing A Case and Fees

All cases are filed in the Clerk's office at the courthouse. All filings must be accompanied by self addressed envelopes for all mailings to be done in the case. If mailings are to be sent by certified mail, please include the completed certified articles.

The County Clerk's Office cannot answer any legal type of questions. We can assist you with the completion of the paperwork, but any legal questions will have to be directed to an attorney .

All cases filed in Jasper County Courts are assigned a case number. It is important to keep this number since all records are filed by case number.

All case numbers have fourteen sometimes fifteen digits as follows:

1 - County #; first 2 digits are always 37 for Jasper County

2 – Court Type: C01 or D01

3 – Date, year and month of filing (i.e., January 2003 = 0301)

4 - Case type: SC, ES, GU, MF, DR, PO, CT, PL, MI, CM, FA, FB, FC, etc…

5 - Sequence number: automatically assigned when case is implemented
