Heavy Equipment Mechanic - Highway Department

The Jasper County Highway Department in Rensselaer, IN is looking for a Heavy Equipment Mechanic for regular maintenance and equipment repair, being able to diagnose, troubleshoot, service and repair highway department vehicles.  Ideal candidate must provide your own tools, have knowledge of basic tools and tool usage, including basic welding skills and a general knowledge of machine systems such as: electronics, hydraulics, power train, engines, and general machine performance.  Applicant must be able to complete paperwork and order parts as needed for repairs and new equipment, be at least 18 years of age, comply with all employer/department personnel policies, and live in Jasper County.  Applicant possessing a CDL not mandatory but desirable.

Official Court Reporter - Jasper County Superior Court

The Jasper County Superior Court, the Honorable Russell D. Bailey, Judge is now accepting applications for the position of Official Court Reporter.  The position is a full-time position working from 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., Monday through Friday, and offers benefits as well as a competitive salary.  The ideal candidate should have proficiency in Microsoft computer applications, especially Word, and have experience with computers and modern web-based software applications.  Legal experience is preferred but not required.  Court Reporter transcription and/or shorthand certifications are preferred, but not required.  Excellent communication skills and character are required, as this position involves significant contact with litigants, lawyers, government personnel, and the general public.  Responsibilities include recording, organizing, and preserving all courtroom proceedings and evidence; managing the court calendar; processing court filings, orders and mail; preparing court correspondence, as well as completing various state and local reports.  Knowledge of e-filing is preferred, but not required.    Prior to April 25, 2022, interested persons should send a resume, cover letter, and a completed Jasper County Employment application to the Honorable Russell D.
